A new year is upon us and with it comes some interesting and notable digits — twos.
Ever since revealing my 2021 predictions last January, the thought of 2022’s triple two digits has been lurking in the back of my thoughts and what significance its meanings would hold for our future in the coming year. At first thought, one may link the number two to partnerships or unity and with that can come great strengths. But the numeral two can also be about division and duality. I won’t dive too deep into the meaning of double and triple digits; however, I will emphasize they both hold intense energy and vibration compared to a single digit’s oomph. Even Nostradamus was distinct in making predictions for the triple two dates; most of which will not bring much contentment.
So for the next 365 days, it would be wise to note that the numeric year’s ending date will have those triple twos' energy influences attached to it. And for those of you that follow the eastern zodiac, 2022’s Chinese New Year celebration will take place on Feb. 1 in the sign of the Tiger. Tiger zodiac energy is all about the action so be prepared and have a backup plan as circumstances could change on “a dime.” You can determine your eastern zodiac sign from the year you were born.
Here are some of the visions I have foreseen for 2022. Let’s begin with the topic of technology. As the nation embraces stricter regulations put on environmental climate control, Taoseños can expect to see more electric automobiles traveling through our region. Charging stations like the one near Kit Carson Park will become apparent on both the north and south sides of town. The concept of the “Shared Ride” idea could be resurrected to conserve air pollution and evade volatile fuel prices. The Taos Ski Valley and Chile Line may be some of the first local improvements to converting to EVs. Talks of using drones to help law enforcement fight crime could be put into action come the latter part of 2022.
In the U.S. Covid-19 cases begin to decrease come late spring.
Globally we will continue to see an increase in variants taking hold from this pandemic. Travel restrictions and bans could be mandated again to slow the spread of the mutations. Locals demand protection from high-risk infections and carriers of infectious diseases. On the lighter side; the economy will not be detained to another lockdown. The younger generations will help launch artificial realities (aka the Metaverse) as the Big Tech giants schedule the release of their versions of this new type of socialization. Speaking of Big Tech companies: new leaderships bring changes to secure internet safety but peace of mind will come with a price.
A new Taos committee/group leader brings focus to a revision of the already in place, “Shop Local” program that entitles county residents to a discount.
Greenhouses begin to pop up all over our area, as food prices continue to rise. A major energy station could suffer a malfunction causing mass power shortages like the one we saw in Texas in the past. Blackouts will become more frequent, affecting large metropolitan areas like; D.C. Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York City.
One can expect shortages of commodities to continue to be scarce. Digital currency will see a bullish increase of more corporate acceptance this year. I don’t see cash being faded out just yet; at least not in 2022. Investments made in the latter half of the year have a better chance of profit than those made in the first quarter of the year. The stock market may experience another pirate profiting scheme that could create a very volatile and unforeseen crash that has a domino effect on the price index of certain goods.
We could see some new faces in local politics and with them, they propose some new ideas to modernize while still keeping traditional cultures’ honored. Social unrest prompts trigger sensitive protests during the summer months. Taos alliances will resume dragging their feet as modernization continues to force the hands of the Land of Enchantment. However, there could be a few silver linings to some of the transitions that we the people will eventually convert to; perhaps it could be related to affordable housing or lower broadband costs.
The thing to remember when it comes to predictions is that they are like a weather forecast for Taos — “sometimes chicken, sometimes chicken feathers.” It is our free will to react or not to react to situations, and with that choice, we control our destiny, however, that may be. Whether it's action or reaction, our freedom of choice often determines how our reality evolves. The new year always represents new beginnings. Starting off the new year with a personal resolution gives us a chance to embrace change as we transform and progress. Astrology, astronomy, horoscopes, predictions; are all guidance tools that can be used to help us determine and understand different situations from a metaphysical and spiritual point of view. May we all be blessed with health, safety, and abundance in 2022.
