Virginia Couse Leavitt, photographed Thursday (Oct. 8) in the same spot where her grandfather, Eanger Irving Couse, was pictured with members of the Taos Society of Artists.

Regina Scherffius, Director of Operations and Communication at the Couse-Sharp Historic Site, reached out to the Tempo this evening with the sad news that Virginia Couse Leavitt has passed away.

Couse Leavitt was the granddaughter of Taos Society of Artists co-founder, Eanger Irving Couse.
