Summary
[edit]Description'Elephant apple' flower - Flickr - Tatters ✾.jpg |
after petals fell off.. Dillenia indica Beautiful tree native to S. Asia (India,Vietnam, south through Thailand to Malaysia and Indonesia) Note: Web sources say the flower is 15cm. It seems exaggerated - compare with bee in the next photos.. They are half of that size, nevertheless they are very decorative and fragrant, but hide inside the crown. The leaves are really large - easily 30cm long or more. See another my photos for info about its edible fruit.
